My 15 year old daughter gifted me with two skeins of beautiful organic cotton yarn. The feminine colors inspired me to create this ruffled scarf.
Large gauge loom with at least 12 pegs. Long pink Knifty Knitter was used in sample.
Worsted weight cotton yarn - 82 yards of main color. Optional I cord accent color. Lion Brand Organic Cotton in Strawberry (main color) and Pecan (accent color) were used in sample.
Loom Hook; Cochet Hook; (Optional: KK I cord loom)
Gauge: Not important
Cast on 12 pegs with crochet cast-on one side of loom. (Do not use the side pegs). Then weave MC yarn across both sides of the loom for the stockinet stitch. Bring the bottom loop over the top loop on both sides. Repeat until desired length is reached. The weave will be open and loose. Be sure to save about 4 yards of MC yarn for the accents. Crochet bind off the scarf.
With crochet hook and accent color, chain along one end of the scarf. Chain two at the corner, turn, and chain two in each chain from the first row. Turn again, and you should start to see a ruffle forming. Crochet another row, again chaining 2 in each chain of the row below. Tie off the ruffle. Repeat on the other end of the scarf.

If desired, make a 12 inch I cord out of the accent color. Using the reserved MC yarn, chain around each end of the eye cord in a circle. Go around a second time, to form a small flower at the end of the eye cord. Loop the tie bolero-style around the scarf.
